What you can rent at our Maharagama showroom

Most people who search for saree rent near Maharagama are planning a wedding, so our collection is built around the bride and her party. Everything below can be tried on during a free fitting.

Kandyan bridal sarees

Our rental collection has more than 100 Kandyan bridal sarees (Osariya), from classic off-white and ivory designs with gold motifs to modern looks with puff sleeves, sheer sleeves, lace, pearls and peplum jackets. Every rental is adjusted so the jacket and drape sit properly on you. See the full range on our Kandyan bridal saree rent page.

Indian bridal sarees

If you prefer an Indian-style drape, we also rent Indian bridal sarees, including white lace designs with silver borders and off-shoulder lace-sleeve styles. You can try both Kandyan and Indian drapes at the same fitting and compare them side by side.

First Rent: a brand-new saree at a rental price

With First Rent, we design and stitch a brand-new saree to your measurements, you are the first bride to wear it, and you return it after the wedding. It costs less than buying a custom saree outright. Read how it works on our First Rent Kandyan saree page.

Bridesmaid sarees

We rent ready-to-wear bridesmaid sarees in trending colours and fabrics, and we can design matching sets for your whole party. Bridesmaid sarees can also be made as First Rent or made to buy. Details are on our bridesmaid saree rent page.

Homecoming and going-away sarees

Many brides need a second look for the homecoming or going-away. We do not keep a rental stock of these, but we make them new for you as First Rent homecoming sarees, from Rs. 35,000: you are the first to wear the saree and return it afterwards. Planning it at the same visit as your bridal saree makes it easier to plan both looks together.

Bridal robes, lehengas and bridal frocks

Matching robes for the bride and bridesmaids are available to rent from Rs. 3,000, as First Rent sets, or to buy, for your getting-ready photos. Lehengas and bridal frocks are made on request to your measurements as First Rent pieces: lehengas from Rs. 45,000 and bridal frocks from Rs. 55,000. Need a new saree jacket? See our custom saree jackets. If you would rather keep your saree, we also make custom bridal sarees to order.

Why more brides rent instead of buying

A bridal saree is worn for a few hours and then usually stays in a cupboard. Renting gives you a high-quality, professionally finished saree without paying the full price of a designer piece you may never wear again. The money you save can go towards the rest of the wedding.

The usual worry about renting is fit. That is why every rental at Lassana Saree starts with a free fitting and includes adjustments to your measurements. If you want something no one has worn before, First Rent sits in between: a brand-new saree made for you, at a rental price.

Rent, First Rent or made-to-order: which is right for you?

All three options start with the same free fitting, so you can decide after trying sarees on. The main differences are whether the saree is new, how it is fitted and whether you keep it.

  • Can I match jewellery, a bouquet and shoes? Yes, you can match these during your fitting.
  • When do I collect and return the saree, and is there a deposit? At Lassana Saree, you collect the saree the day before your wedding and return it the day after (two days either side if you live far away). A refundable deposit is taken, and a dry-cleaning charge applies.

How saree rental works at Lassana Saree

  1. Share your date. Message us on WhatsApp or book a free fitting online. Tell us your wedding date, venue and the look you like (Kandyan, Indian, modern, minimal or rich).
  2. Free fitting at our showroom. Try on Kandyan and modern bridal sarees, check the drape and match bridal jewellery, bouquets and shoes with expert guidance.
  3. Choose your option. Pick a saree from the rental collection, or choose First Rent or made-to-order if you want something new.
  4. Adjustments to your measurements. We check the jacket fit, saree length, pleats and comfort, and make the alterations needed.
  5. Final fitting. You try the finished look once more so everything sits perfectly and feels easy to wear.
  6. Ready for your day. We hand over your bridal set with guidance, so you feel confident from the ceremony to the reception.

For a stress-free experience we recommend starting at least 3 to 4 months before your wedding, especially if you want First Rent or a made-to-order saree.

Tips before you rent a saree

  • Book your fitting early. Popular wedding dates fill up, and an early fitting gives time for any adjustments.
  • Bring your heels. Wear or bring the exact height of shoes you plan to wear. It changes the drape and the length of the saree.
  • Bring reference photos. Screenshots from Pinterest or Instagram help us understand the look you want quickly.
  • Plan your second look together. Choose your homecoming or going-away saree at the same visit so both looks work with your jewellery and colours.
  • Think about your bridesmaids. Their sarees should complement yours, so it helps to decide colours once your bridal saree is chosen.
